What DO i Need for Cod?

What is the best set up to have for cod?
Such as Rods, Reels, line, Lures and bait?

Just get hold of a rod and reel ,borrow one if you can ,chuck some good line on it eg Berkly 17lb mono . Get a couple of lures any type ,because I don't think that cod care what they eat or bite . Then get down to the river early morning or late afternoon and cast them lures at and around every rock,log,stick,stump,deep bank and running water until ya catch a bugga .
