which dam, Baroon pocket? Whats the go with Ewen Maddock dam? can you fish on there? I've been told that Caloundra City Council doesn't like people on there with any type of water craft. Is this true? Mate, if it was next week not the week after I'd give you a hand but got to go back to work to earn some more money to go fishin more.
Cheers Bill

thanks for the replys guys
hi stevo the dam is baroon pocket at the maleny ramp fingerlings will be arriving at around 10.00 am just over 50000 of them
iwill have buckets and the water board supply the boat to release the fingerlings over several spots
this is an electric motor only dam so iff you want to fish before or after please do
gates open at 700 during the week and 4.00am on weekends for those interested
hi sniper
dont know whats happening with ewenmadock
we were going to stock there but the council are to narrow minded to under stand the benifits to the community so we pulled the plug on it
so inthe process it lost dpi funding as well as a lot of dedicated anglers but thats life i suppose

Cameron you forgot to mention there's toga in ewenmaddock ;D and they should be breeding up just fine by now.I arranged a stocking of them a few years back and the clowncil was'nt to happy about it but sh#t happens and there's some good bass in there as well.So just go fish it,and stuff the council what they do'nt know won't hurt them :-X.Hope you get a hand with the fish release. We released 120,000 bass into lenthalls in 2 days supplied by Bill Procter bloody good fingerlings. And had no trouble with members helping out but thats what you get with a council and water board that are supportive of stocking groups.Clowndra moanroochy water board and clowncils are just a bunch of backward morons >:( and do'nt want fisherpersons on there dams it's as simple as that ???.Keep up the good work Cameron if it was'nt for you there would'nt be any stockings happening at all in those dams and stick it upem [smiley=angryfire.gif]!!!!!did you give david a call to see if he can help out? Regards Paul

Cameron, mate you deserve a medal for your efforts.
I would love to help but it would be a long trip from Mackay.
Every group / club has it's few hardworking members no matter how large or small the membership so you running the show on your own is amazing Great effort.
If you are ever up this way get in touch (just pm me) as we have some great Barra and Sooty fishing in our local dams and a great stocking group
See Ya, Kev

Hey Cameron,It's a long shot but give Al a call he's pretty busy but you never know ,Keep up the good work mate NEVER SAY DIE as you well know my time at the helm there was full of frustration dealing with those bungling morons they call a water board and clowncil. Can garantee one thing the fish you gonna get from Bill are top shelf and will only make Baroon a better fishery for the future ;D,and maybe one day you'll get a decent clowncil that will relise the benifits of freshwater fishing and be more supportive :o.All the best with it and it's great to see the offers from fellow ausfish members willing to give you a hand ;D.You better get ya but up here soon for a fish with me on the salt and we'll see if we can get all the kinks outa ya fly line ;).Or a day out on Lenthalls as it's fishin well of late.Keep up the good work mate.Regards Paul

Cameron,
Bret Parkinson here. I can help and should be able to get some people from the uni to help out and I think a few of them would be willing to help out longer term. I will give you a call.
On Ewan Maddock we are about to get the stocking going again there. In the midst of setting up a meeting with the council and DPI. Currently no boat should be fishing this place and I would ask that you don;t until we get it sorted. As Paul said the Council have not been the most helpful with this place and are more then likely to withdraw if people are fishing it when they shouldn't be. A little patients may go a long way here as the council really does seem keen to get Ewan moddock going.

Once again thanks alot guys
Im sure if it was on a weekend i would be over whelmed with help but because of thedistance that bill has to travel and every one wanting his fish delivered on the weekends i decided to help him out as well by not putting to much driving pressure on him this guy did over 30000km last year delivering fingerlings all over south east qld
so i must say thats a credit to the sip doing its job
cheers cameron

Cameron, I never thought to mention that, as the customer, you tell THEM when you want the fish delivered (within reason of course). I've done it many a time & will do it again in the future if we can't get the numbers there for a release. Its also good on weekends as there's more anglers around to see thefish go in. They get to see where their $$$ is going. ;D
Cheers,
Fitzy..

hi fitzy
thanks for them kind words
as far as being the costomer you are right there
We are able to tell them when it suites the stocking
i did that last year as well but there are other circumstances involved with water board rules and regs to take into consideration things that make it that little bit more frustrating Like the boards rangers not working on saturdays so no boat to use and just a few things like that
I think dpi will be coming up as well so that will help with the counting as well
cheers cameron

Hi again, you are now getting a bit more help i see. How many helpers do you need or would be a waste? I am still ok with one other if you still want. Will be up there about 7 to 7-30 if many hands won't get in the way and we will still be of some sort of help otherwise it will be back to work. wait to hear from you. ;D [smiley=2thumbsup.gif] :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

Hi.
Keep up the good work on the stocking group, I know how it feels but a couple of ideas which have worked for us ;-
If you are stuck for help for a specific stocking just go on the local radio station - give the announcer enough info by fax -and they will get enough people there to help you.
Take a notebook with the details of you next meeting and contact numbers for the people to take home. Take a list of their numbers to phone for next time.
Target the local retired people interested in fishing with signs at the local self funded retirees meeting or local tackle shops etc., these people usually have more time, are keen and are available mid-week.
Worked for us! Good Luck.
