Gday all, was wondering what are some good techniques for catching JP's on lure. what lures work? I went down to my local freshwater hole and landed a small one around 20cm on a reidys lure casting into some floating sticks and grass. What else is effective on these fish? Thanks guys.

I've always got them on mister twisters (soft plastic). They work fairly well. I reckon yabbie imitations would kill em and maybe frogs too.

We use either small hard body minnows or a small popper. When using the popper though dont pop it too much, just slowly jig it making a slight movement on the surface. Go for a trip to tully gorge right to the power station and then get ready for a swim and climb upstream, big JP's every where, a mate has landed 9 in 1 trip before. Biggest being 46 cm.
Weve tried soft plastics but dont get the same results.
