at this time of year it is time to find the termoclines on you sounder and fish for the fish scooling up on them with soft plastic another thing worth doing if you are ok doing it is to troll some of the DEEP divers (20-40foot) around the drop offs and steep cliffs or over the drowned timber
some of the places to try is a troll in boat harbour, dam wall, back wall, old cermatary at glenbourne
as for st clair i haven't fished it at this ime of year before ;D

Hi LLC
If you haven't been to either of these dams I would suggest to try st claire, it usually fishes pretty good from now till the end of may.The reason for suggesting st claire it is alot smaller than glenbawn and if you compare the release data on the fisheries site st claire has more fish per ltre of water, having said that I have had fishless trips at both dams.
some of the lures which have worked for us in both dams are small & medium hot'n'tots, deception shrimps, rapala fat raps, knolls natives, tilsan bass and the list goes on spinnerbaits and squiggies also work well, all the usual methods work from casting at standing timber and rocky corners to helicoptered spinnerbait amongst the weed beds(weed beds in st claire are probably the number 1 structure to target). The fish in st claire are wide spread and can be caught just about anywhere.Species to expect in st claire bass, yellowbelly, silver perch, catties and the biggest eels you will ever see.Hope this has been helpfull,if there's anything else get back to me

The place is full of waterskiers too. Wonder if they tuck their feet up close when they fall off [smiley=shocked2.gif]
