finding barra

hi guys,i will be travelling up from n.s.w. and would like to know the first area you will be able to fish for barra.thanks for the help

Totem....first stop would be Monduran near Gin Gin. Big Dam with minimal Barra stocked but you might be lucky. Next stop Awoonga near Gladstone. Big Dam with shitloads of Barra but hard to get consistant fish. Next stop Teemburra near Mackay. Small dam with plenty of Barra. Dam levels low at the moment with a 6 knot speed limit. Next stop Faust near Proserpine. Big Dam with shitloads of Barra. Best Barra dam in the country.

Then theres the salty versions. Anywhere from Bundy on you will find Barra in estuaries.

If you need practice stop off at the Barra farm Bli Bli just north of Maroochydore Sunshine Coast not real sporting but a lot of fun.
(you can fish bait, fly or lure so it can be any skill level)

Maybe stop there if you don't have any luck up north at least you will get a photo to show when you get home ;D
