Carp spawning

Well i was up my local river the other day and was watching the carp spawning. Some of the females were around 15kg with up to 4 males by their side.I didnt have any fishing gear on me so i flew home and got my rods, but on return some people with bows and arrows had killed some and spooked the rest into deep water. :( would have been fun to catch one of the 15 kg females!! Was an amazing sight though watching 1000's of carp from 6 to 15kg spawning in 1 foot of water. Not too good for the river system though.
