Hi all,
Am thinking about going to McDonald this weekend for a fish, so seeking any fishing reports and spots etc
Any information would be highly regarded.
Cheers...

Some of our club members fished there a week ago, and got what has become our standard catch over the last few visits-
a few large excellent condition fish each , mixed into a thousand casts to gaps in the weed beds.
personally this is fine with me, but can become hard work.

Most of the fish caught on the before mentioned trip were in open water. Though not in the main basin but up around the corner. We also found that once the sun hit high beam the fish became very hard to entice!
When you turn the corner to head up the dam there is a red bouy on the right hand side...just near there is where I got the biggest for the weekend at 49cm.

Hey mate,
When you say around the corner and in open water, I think there is a plataue (spelling?) the main basin is quite deep, then goes shallow to 5m until it goes deep again at the three ways. Where it is shallow, I think thats where you are talking about the red bouy. I caught my very first 50cm Bass there over two years ago on Steve Starlings Squiggy.
What were you using? and did you try around and up the creek that goes around past the red bouy to the left?
Am looking forward to winter there because last year I caught 8x 50cm plus Bass in 9 casts in the main basin, as they school up.
Tight lines...
