im not shite stirring just was talking to local guy at the dam today and , well theres the question. TRUTH OR FICTION ???
if true that would explain the sparse fish population. compared to resent history.

Cloud 9,
You seem to have a bitch with Hinze Dam from time to time, caused by your lack of action on the dam. ;D You say you are not stiring then i am not picking just telling you some facts.
I am associated with a club which fish there plenty and one of our members is on the HDFMC, I can get numbers for you to put your mind at rest. I seem to rember one year they may have missed a stocking due to low water or lack of fingerlings, which ever i am not sure.
Dont know who the guy was you talked to but i was also there today, although i did not get cricket scores i managed 11 fish with 4 of these just under 30cm to the fork. Another angler there caught 13 with 33cm his smallest and i think 2 bass over 40cm, Two Saratoga hooked none landed, i was there 4 days ago for an hour and my friend caught a 48cm Bass. plenty of fish were bought in today. But some caught nothing. All dependent how you fish and where you fish.
Hinze has heaps of fish just they are better at hiding then we are at finding them.
P.S. ---------I will get you stocking numbers and type of fish. If i forget remind me.
Cheers Tony

Hi Cloud 9 and Tony,
Atleast you got a few bass Cloud 9, a bit better than some of the tournament guys anyway. Thats fishing.
Tony, I am yet to fish Hinze but plan to do so soon. I am waiting for my sounder to come back from warranty repairs though. I am fishing from a kayak, were are some better spots to try with in paddling distance. i have been going back to Maroon as I know some spots and good weedbeds to target while sounder is out of action. I got 10 bass yesterday afternoon, dropped 3, 2 keepers for the session.
As winter is approaching without the sounder I will have no chance of locating schooled bass or good drop offf etc so appreciate any help you all could give me. ;D
Cheers
Aaron

Aaron im planing a trip to wivenho soon to tackle some big bass got itchy fingers. :D
we'll take my electric wizzer so you can enjoy the fishing more and only get sore arms from the big bass. :o
I'm hopeing for good weather this weekend as the Long tails have my attention at the moment.
tony i know i probably sound like a whiny SOB but would like to pick your brains as to WTF i'm doing wrong or what techneec i should be useing. have found schools on the sounder that look just like the schools i've found in sommerset, but the sucker wont bite. no mater what you tose at them. should i be tring ice jigs at these fish or what?
the guy i was talking to was fishing with his dog and his craft had a tiller bow mounted complete with Zip ties, and he had a rudder on the transom on a modified lecie bracket. 12' tinnie ??? he seemed to know his stuff , but as ive found some fellers are full of crap.
just as i was leaveing i could Hear him swearing his head off from accross the lake he dropped something big and wipping his rod at the water and stuff.
Cheers cloud 9
