Hi fisho's, couple of mates and myself ventured out to cressy couple of weeks ago and had a ball. Between two boats{4 tryhard fishermen} we caught about 40 fish for the day. Not going to try to put numbers of fish to people cause i caught the most fish anyway ;) ;), One mate had only been freshwater fishing once before, and that was with us at summerset, and we didn't catch a thing, so he was expecting basically the same thing, not to be I'm sorry to say. Took him about 5 mins to catch his first bass and then you couldn't stop him. The mate I was fishing with tried some imitation jackell lure and got smashed about two foot in the water after lobbing the thing on the bank, biggest bass in the photo. All up only two bass and one yella kept for the day, but plenty others caught and released to make bigger fishes for us all next time. Hopefully the bloody photo will work ;D CHEERS woody

Well done mate! [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
Nice to hear there is a few bass still movin' in Cressbrook. Have had reasonable success recently by stalking the wedbanks and sticks, but, due to the price of jackalls, I spend most of the time chasing them with sliders :-[ :-[ :-[

Cressbrook is 60km from Toowoomba /20km Crows Nest/ 40km(guess) Esk off the Crows Nest / Ravensbourne road. Entry cost $2
The ramp is a rough gravel affair but its a ramp. For a couple of months there we didn't have one at all.
There are opening and closing times but I'm not sure what they are now. I 'think' 0700 1800 but other will confirm/correct.
No engine restrictions but speed restrictions apply if the ranger feels like it.
No Waterskiers ;D ;D
The fish are in the water apparently ??? I was out there on Sunday, had a graet afternoon boating ;D
Next time I'll try this fishin. I'm sure they were there somewhere but I didn't find them.

Thanks for the replies guy's, bobby777888, mate just bought his first jackel the day before we went out and had no luck at all. Mind you they swiched to fresh shrimps and didn't stop all day.
Mainly used shrimp for bait, but did have a few good hits on the spinnerbait's I was testing out. My advice is go for the fresh shrimp, we tried everything we had but to no avail, soft plastics hard body lures {shallow and deep diving} poppers NOTHING, but as soon as we switched to shrimp, bob's your uncle. Hope this helps you's out in the future. Basically sounded around till we found some good schools and went at it. CHEERS woody.
