Hey,

Just wondering what spinnerbait techniques have served you guys well in the past for catching bass. I like to the burn and kill around weedy outcrops, seems to do the trick. Also when the sun gets higher slow rolling it deeper seems to be fairly productive.

hey Quinn!!
I mainly fish in maroon dam, and i find casting spinnerbaits around the standing timber great for catching a few bass. In the late afternoon i tend to fish them fairly slowly, and as the sun go's down i tend to work them faster and faster trying to keep them closer to the surface. I usually then change to a surface lure. I find casting spinnerbaits almost on top of the weed beds around the timber, let them sink deep and then bring them back at wateva speed u feel necessary tends to work most of the time.

hope this helps mate!!

cheers, Dave

Yeah I get what your saying, really have to adapt what your doing for the time of day and how the fish are acting. I remember when I first used spinnerbaits I had no idea of what to do, all i did was cast them out and wind them in fairly quickly. Learning to keep the lure at the level were the fish are has helped heaps. Also I remember watching this video by Jimmy Houston, and one of the things I picked up was just to slow roll it, funny how the small things make all the difference.

Edit: Oh by the way thanx for reply.
