I am planning a trip to Monduran and thought while I was there might chase some gar, so whats the deal as to how do I catch em and clean them(apparently you roll them with a bottle or some such), thanks.

there great little fish i use a small hook baited with either bread or fresh water mussell holds on the hook better and you catch more because it stays on, a float about 2 feet back from hook for weight and to keep the bait on top and you can berley up with bread. they jump and carry on when hooked and fly rod fishing is great fun. i fillet mine and cut the rib cage out and beer batter them there beautiful,, the freshwater whiting my wife calls them. i hope this helps youll have fun catching and eating these terrific little fish. cheers bdowdy ;)
