Heaviest Bass I've caught went 3.04kg and measured 52cm to the fork. Biggest in length so far is 58cm to the fork, but only weighed 2.24kg. Depends on the time of year and if they have been having a good feed. Both these fish came out of the same impoundment.

I remember seeing a mount in a Maitland pub of an 81/2 lb bass (perch in those days) that was washed up in a flood. Other old Northerners may remember this monster. I wonder what happened to it?

In years to come if we push for more catch and release in some of our dams where growth rates accelerate, we may have some boomers.

this one was 56cm to the tip of the tail and I reckon would have weighed close to 6lb (at least 5lb something), It is my Biggest Bass to date (and was my first on a soft plastic!!!) came from North pine during the only tagging session to date ;) so if you get a 60cm+ Bass with a tag in him it will probablly be this one ;D (Hardb8 has already caught one of my tagged fish ;D).
Funny thing though the 45cm bass I caught next went nearly twice as hard as this one :-?
