I just bought a quiver tip rod and have a stradic 1000 threadline reel to go on it, but was wondering if there is an advantage in using a baitrunner instead?
I suppose with whiting and luderick I don't need the baitrunner as I only need to detect the bite, but bream can be more tricky.
What's your experience been? Thanks, Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
I also bought a quiver tip rod, (Silstar) great rod which I used with my small stradic.
However I saw an Okuma 30 series bait runner which I bought on a whim & found it to be a great combo, especially when bait fishing & flatties & bream take the bait.
This is 4th bait runner & I reckon I would not fish with anything else.
Cheers

scubapro, I was looking at the okumas' too. Is yours the coronado range. They're on special at MO tackle for $100.00 for the smallest cd 30. Shimano are twice that. How much was yours?
