Like most things, unless you are in the know you can do yourself out of plenty of $$$$
I had a bearing go on my Shimano 6500BTR, while I do normal just ring the tackle shop & order one in ( like the last time $20.00 for a shaft bearing for a 4500BTR), I decided to ring round a few bearing joints. One thought they could help me so I went down, they measured it up & gave me the part number as they didn't have it in stock. I went to another bearing place called Miniture bearings & they stock heaps of different types & sizes & sure enough had one to replace my stuffed on.
Here's the good bit, they are HALF the price of what the tackle shop charges.
Here is a small selection of bearings that they KNOW will fit fishing reels. But if you have the size of the bearing they could very well have one.
