Hey guys,
I'm very new to flyfishing and i'm not sure what gear to go for. I'd like to target small GT's, Chopper tailor, Flathead and big bream. I was thinking 7/8/9 weight but i don't know what flies, tippets, lines.... The whole lot. Help is appreciated.
Cheers.

Bo,

I suggest getting a copy of "Saltwater Fly Fishing Fundamentals - An Introduction to Saltwater Fly Fishing" by Peter Morse to get a handle on all the terms.

I'd also suggest getting some casting instruction . That will get you on the right track straight away, and you won't pick up bad casting technique. There are a few course offered by tackle shops and instructors.

Bo,
Good advice from Wes. It's a big question to try and answer.
Had a lesson from Wayne myself.
Lots of options available and probably just as many opinions as to what is the gun gear.
I use a 7wt Loomis with a sink tip line. Leader / tippet is generally 6lb snyder - that's all I got.
Brean flies - crazy charlies, baited breath, small prawn immitations. Trevs will nail a whole bunch of flies. I've not had much success with the flatties. Choppers I've encountered seem to go nuts over flies with green or chatreuse in them.
That's the stuff that works for me.
