G'day pn,
A 7000 C4 series costs about $230, while the plain old original costs about $180 - 90. The C4 is a lever drag while the classic is more the baitcaster type with a star drag.

They are top reels, just bought a 6500 C3 myself 8). Hope this helps.

Abu 7000 red one and no bearings just bushed........$139.00

Abu 7000c3 silver with three stainless ball bearings..(this is my pick).....$149.0

These are all proven tough reels if its for the surf the standard red fella is the go with low maintance,if casting lures repeatedly is an option the C3 is my pick and if you need a lever drag well the C4 is the go....

Good luck in your decision...

Amart all sports have the 7000 for $140 and the 7000C3 for $150. I think these prices may be pretty hard to beat.

Hey, A Mart all sports are great, I have been getting more and more stuff from them. I don't know how the other tackle stores can compete.

Clutter l ammended the prices so now they should compete untill l'm out of stock :o .............

Robin service and advice of any tackle shop should and is better than most supermarket stores.....

Regular customers are the key to tackle shops, shoping at supermarket stores sometimes is better on price (due to sales)but things you miss out in is advice recommendations and product knowledge also they dont get a big range that tackle stores get so you miss out on seeing alot of the products that are available to you, also tackle shops have seminars, special sale days\nights for loyal customers and most stores have V.I.P customer cards so you may save a few dollars on some occasions but look what you miss out on...
