braid

I recently started using bionic braid on okuma epix reel on a 12'6" glass surf rod. I am having problems with the line tangling around the first guide. I re-adjusted the guides closer to the reel. It's casting better but still tangles occasionally.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Braid does that, the tighter its wound on the better, bit hard if there is no fish attatched, my suggestion would be to get a fish every cast ;D

G'day Wes.
The biggest problem with braid in the surf is the amount of slack when your bait/lure hits the water.

When it hits the water, try winding the line on tight by hand for th first couple of winds. The weight of the bait etc on retreival should look after the rest of the line out there, it's just that first few meters that can cause greif on occasions.

I only use braid offshore as I go alright with mono elsewhere. ;)
