just wondering if any one out there has had much to do with shimano trinidad seies as i am trying to weigh up is it better to buy a calcutta 700 or trinidad tn30 0r 40 as this reel will be used for both surf chasing mulloway or salmon in south australia or reef fishing in the cairns etc while on holidays so any feed back be helpful

Mate!! as far as i'm concerned, these are the "ants pants" of high speed trolling and casting reels. I own a 16, 20 and 30.
The 30 is as heavy as you want to cast with, and the 6:1 retrieve is excellent. If you can afford the bucks, get the trinidad, as the calcutta isn't in the same ball park. i used to have a calcutta 400 but found my daiwa millionaire far superior in casting and general fishability.Team your trinidad up with a live fibre rod and youwill have the best of everything.
