Is anyone familiar with the Stradic range of reels? I would be interested to hear any opinions.
Thanks

I've got the 2000 model (or is it 2500??). Great little reel which I use for creek fish like barra (small) and mangrove jacks. I have a couple of cheaper Shimano spinning reels which are OK but nowhere near as smooth as the Stradic - particularly when the drag is under pressure. I also use it on the reefs to catch bait fish to load on my heavy duty gear and I've pulled fish up to 5kg without any trouble. I'm yet to fight a good sized tuna with it but it'd probably do the job.

Not cheap but they are built to last.

Kaos,

Check out these reviews on the Stradic.

(This one is Magnesium, probably not good for fishing in Australia unless you're doing all freshwater)

I just got a Biomaster sent over from Japan. They are the Japanese version of the Stradic and its an awesome little reel.

From what I understand the Stradic's are a top reel and worth the money.

I have one of the older/original stradic's which i bought in 1985. With regular servicing, it is still going strong!!
A bit expensive these days, but you get what you pay for.

I've got the 2000, 4000 and 6000 Stradics. Caught plenty of longtails/mac tuna on the 6000 no problems. The 2000 has been used on mainly flatties, no dramas once again.
Looking at getting another 2000 and 4000 for the other half. They are expensive however if you look after them, they will last a long time.
