In general - if it were a toss-up between Tica and Okuma
spinning reels - which brand?

I have both, but lean towards the tica at the upper end. I have a taurus 5000+6000, which are terrific, and quite comparable to the stella i have, but a lot less in $'s. The okuma epix series, i also have no problems with, but i can tell the difference in smoothness and drag.
I also own a couple of tica dolphin 10000's, whic i use for sailfish, or LBG. Absolutely fabulous. Why spend the $'s on Stella and saltiga?
