Pearl Perch who suicided on my tackle about 3 years ago. The reason I am sending the photo in is because an article in the Bush and Beach magazine reminded me of my superb catch. In the article the author stated he had not seen many large Pearlies. This fish measured- from lip to inside tail fin -670 mm, and weighed in approx.3.0 kg cleaned. It was caught on 30 lb mono attached to a 10 kg Shimano beastmaster rod with a Penn 330Gti reel. (This combo is known as "the back breaker". We were fishing off "Wildcat 2" out of Jumpinpin, and were several Kilometres East of the Pin reef. The fish may not be any match for the tackle used but it was a big Pearlie all the same.
