On the Ninety Mile Beach in Victoria (Woodside) I went fishing for a couple of flathead off the surf when I hooked a Huge Mulloway. It weighed 120 lb., and is 5ft 11'' in length. It took me 90 minutes to reel him in, then to put him the ute I had to ram my ute into the sand dunes. He was caught on an old cane rod with a mitchel egg beater reel on a 20 lb line. This fish I have now got mounted above my bar. The taxidermist told me that the fish had lost 15 to 20 lb while being stored in the local Hotel fridge until the taxidermist could preserve it for me.
